The CT-3500 S2 is Vanguard’s second generation, stand-alone, digital, microprocessor-controlled, circuit-breaker timer. It measures the elapsed time from the instant a breaker coil is energized to the instant of opening or closing of a circuit-breaker’s dry contacts. In addition to timing a breaker’s contact response time, the CT-3500 S2 can also time relays or other switching functions that use an initiating trigger voltage (24-300 Volts DC or AC). The timer-triggering voltage starts three independent electronic timers. Each timer is individually stopped by its respective dry-contact closing or opening. The CT-3500 can fully analyze the timing of all circuit breaker operations (Open, Close, Open – Close, and Close – Open). Timing results are displayed in milli-seconds and cycles on the unit’s back-lit LCD screen and can be printed on the built-in 2.5-inch wide thermal printer.

Renesas' family of low-side FET drivers are very high-speed matched dual-drivers capable of delivering peak currents of 2.0 amps into highly capacitive loads and excellent at driving large capacitive loads with minimal delay and switching times. The high-speed performance is achieved by means of a proprietary "Turbo-Driver" circuit that speeds up input stages by tapping the wider voltage swing at the output. Improved speed and drive capability are enhanced by matched rise and fall delay times. These matched delays maintain the integrity of input-to-output pulse-widths to reduce timing errors and clock skew problems. This improved performance is accompanied by a 10 fold reduction in supply currents over bipolar drivers, yet without the delay time problems commonly associated with CMOS devices. Dynamic switching losses are minimized with non-overlapped drive techniques.

The MINI-MAX can measure the elongation very accurately in fasteners of virtually any material from 1/2 inch to 4 feet in length. The measurement is achieved by determining the change in the transit time, of an ultrasonic shock wave along the length of the fastener as the fastener is tightened by any method. Through the use of high speed digital signal processing and automated diagnostics, the MINI-MAX minimizes the requirement for extensive operator training. For the highest time resolution, fluorescence is measured using the time-resolved fluorescence upconversion technique, where the fluorescence light emitted from the sample is sum-frequency mixed in a nonlinear crystal with a femtosecond gating pulse from the laser. The time resolution is then limited by the duration of the gate pulse and is in the range of 250 fs. For fluorescence decay times exceeding 150 ps, the instrument can be used in time-correlated single-photon counting (TCSPC) mode that allows for measuring high‑accuracy kinetic traces in the 200 ps – 2 μs temporal domain.
