The sbRIO‑9871 adds RS485/RS422 serial ports to CompactRIO systems. The serial ports are accessed directly from the FPGA to offer you flexibility in communicating with serial devices. The module has individual buffers on every port that save FPGA space and simplify programming. The sbRIO‑9870 supports standard start bit, stop bit, and handshaking settings. It uses an external power to provide maximum compatibility and reliability under all serial port conditions. Non-enclosed modules are designed for OEM applications.

CM8 -
North Atlantic Industries
The CM8 module is a combination of NAI's MIL-STD-1553B module, FTB, and Enhanced Discrete I/O module, DT4. The CM8 offers twelve channels of discrete I/O and two channels of MIL-STD-1553B communications. The twelve discrete I/O channels are programmable as either input (voltage or contact sensing with programmable, on-module pull-up/pull down current sources), or output (current source, sink, or push-pull) up to 500 mA per channel from an applied, external 3-60 VCC source. The discrete I/O channels also provide additional functionality modes such as Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) output mode and Pattern Generator output mode. The two MIL-STD-1553B communications channels feature a dual, redundant, balanced-line, physical layer; a (differential) network interface; time division multiplexing; half-duplex command/response protocol; and up to 31 remote terminals (devices).

M8K429 -
Excalibur Systems, Inc.
The M8K429 is an ARINC-429 multi-channel test and simulation module to be used on the Excalibur 8000 family of carrier boards. The module supports up to five ARINC-429 channels in any combination of transmitters and receivers. Each of these channels feature error injection and detection capabilities. The receive channels allow for the storage of all selected Labels with status and time tag information appended to each word. The receivers allow for filtering and multi-storage modes of Data Words. The transmit channels operate via a transmit ‘instruction stack’ which allows scheduling of data transmissions and reduces the need for host computer intervention. The M8K429 comes complete with C-driver software library including the source code.

M8K708 -
Excalibur Systems, Inc.
The M8K708 module is an ARINC-708 / 453 2-channel test and simulation module for the Weather Radar Display Databus. The M8K708 supports two ARINC-708 / 453 channels, each selectable as transmit or receive. Each channel implements an 64K×16 FIFO and supports polling and/or interrupt driven operation. The M8K708 comes complete with Windows software, a C-driver software library including source code and may be used with Exalt, Excalibur’s Analysis and Laboratory Tools, a Windows monitoring application. In addition, Excalibur produces adapter cables that convert the carrier board I/O Molex™ connector to two twinax CJ70-49 connectors. The cable may be purchased at an additional cost.

8x46, 0.3 A, Reed Matrix Module for SwitchBlock - The SWB‑2816 is a reed relay matrix module for SwitchBlock systems. Designed for high power, it can operate as an individual relay card or expand in a single carrier or single PXI chassis. You can connect any input to any output, … individually or in combination. You can use matrix switches to route signals from oscilloscopes, DMMs, arbitrary waveform generators, and power supplies to various test points on a unit under test (UUT). The primary benefit of matrix switches is simplified wiring—the overall test system can easily and dynamically change the internal connection path without any external manual intervention.
