Power and amplitude measurements with an accuracy of <0.1% are automatically synchronized to the fundamental frequency. Peak, RMS, rectified and DC measurements of voltage, current and power are provided including continuous, inrush, startup and history modes, plus an integration mode for W-Hr, A-Hr, VA-Hr as well as integrated average power. The S700X SQUID Magnetometer is the most sensitive instrument for DC and AC measurement of magnetic properties as a function of magnetic field and temperature. Numerous different experiments may be performed with this unique instrument. The SQUID sensor at the heart of the system has an input noise power sensitivity of approximately 10-30 Joules per root Hz. This energy sensitivity is 108 better than any semiconductor device and accounts for the instrument's ability to resolve extremely small magnetic signals with accuracy and speed. The S700X has several modes of operation. The most widely used is the measurement of total magnetic moment made by moving the sample through a set of pick-up coils. During the measurement the sample temperature and applied magnetic field are precisely controlled. The second order gradiometer configuration used for the pick-up coils is insensitive to the externally applied field but allows samples of 10-11 Am2 total moment to be resolved with ease.

Units can be operated either by solenoid, motor, or air cylinder, with spring or gravity return. All models have spherical contacts. When voltage transient limiting is required, some models have an adjustable sphere gap. Also available are units with built-in high voltage discharge resistors with energy dissipation capabilities from 50 to 10,000 ohms. Some units can be reduced in height if full line to ground voltage is connected to the top high voltage contact only and the other high voltage terminal is operating at, or near, ground potential. Line to ground voltage can also be increased by adding insulation between lower high voltage contact and ground. Normally mounted base down. Base up mounting if specified.
