M4KSerialPlus -
Excalibur Systems, Inc.
The M4KSerialPlus is an enhanced serial interface module for the multiprotocol Excalibur 4000 family of carrier boards, that includes several advanced features such as a high baud rate and high throughput. This module supports up to four independent channels of serial communications, each of which can be selected as RS-485, RS-422 or RS-232. The module operates independently of the host computer, reducing the need for host intervention. The M4KSerialPlus module is based on the Exar XR16M570 Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART). The device is compatible to industry standard 16550 UARTs. Each of the M4KSerialPlus’s four channels contains a transmit FIFO capable of holding up to 16384 bytes and a receive FIFO capable of holding either 16384 receive bytes or 5460 bytes with a 32-bit Time Tag associated with each byte. These large buffers allow application code to transfer large quantities of data with a single non-blocking subroutine call. The 32-bit Time Tag on receive channels is very useful for synchronizing serial data with data from other modules on the 4000 board or on other interface boards. Each channel has a programmable baud rate of up to 10 Mbps and can be configured as RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485.The M4KSerialPlus module is supplied with C drivers, including source code.

Express-BASE -
ADLINK Technology Inc.
The COM Express approach of custom carrier combined with off the shelf system cores is an excellent solution when you need to customize but lack the time or quantity for a complete redesign. It fits most system integration projects with production volumes from 500 to 10,000 pcs per year. The COM Express concept has a great many advantages over full custom designs, it reduces engineering complexity, lowers the threshold for total project quantity and last but not least brings your product to the market in no time. The average time to design a carrier board is less than half the time of a full custom OEM board.

MIC-3951 -
Advantech Co. Ltd.
The MIC-3951 is a 6U CompactPCI carrier board for PCI Mezzanine Cards (PMC) modules. It provides two 64-bit PMC sites for easy CompactPCI system expansion through different PMC modules. An Intel® 21154 PCI-to-PCI bridge chip is used in the MIC-3951 for CompactPCI bus expansion and decreases the CompactPCI bus loading to one, in addition to meeting industry requirements. Advantech provides several PMC modules that work in conjunction with the MIC-3951, such as the inclusive 10/100 Ethernet module and Gigabit module. In addition to being compatible with Advantech CompactPCI products, the MIC-3951 can also be used with other standardized, off-the-shelf modules from other manufacturers.
