A temperature calibrator, often called a thermometer calibrator, is used to correct inaccuracies in installed thermometers and temperature sensors, because temperature measurement is a critical parameter in many industrial processes. Although simulators are sometimes called temperature calibrators or thermometer calibrators and may be used to provide thermometer calibration for the electronics in an installed system, a temperature source with a calibrated reference sensor is still required to provide a complete and meaningful calibration. These modules offer low conversion loss and excellent noise figure. Standard features include dual operating modes. First, the module can function as a high performance down-converting mixer. The second operating mode functions as a block down-converter with a broadband IF up to 20 GHz. Power to the module is provided via an included external DC power supply. These frequency extenders minimize conversion loss by multiplying and amplifying the LO signal internally, thus taking advantage of the benefits of low harmonic mixing. This architecture also preserves the X-Series precision frequency resolution and low phase noise, extending those qualities into the millimeter and sub-millimeter bands.

ACM4509 is an automatic calibration module that can be used with all CMT Vector Network Analyzers operating in frequency range up to 9 GHz. It is a fully automatic USB-controlled and powered electronic calibration module. Minimizing the number of steps required by technicians reduces the risk of human error and expedites the calibration process. Automating the calibration routine also reduces wear and tear on the analyzer and RF cables. To perform full four-port calibration, each end of the ACM need only be connected to the analyzer once, as opposed to 18 connections with a traditional calibration. The ACM also contains a factory characterized 20dB in-line attenuator which acts as a simulated device under test (DUT). The confidence check feature loads the factory stored DUT into memory so proper calibration can be verified.
