Low Noise Pre-Amplifiers

The Pre-Amplifier contains an AC/DC power supply, internal low noise amplifier, and a bias tee to source a DC bias voltage on the RF input connector.To overcome cable loss between the test antenna and the Pre-Amplifier assembly, a remote low noise amplifier (LNA) is mounted directly onto the 10 GHz antenna. Analog Devices’ charge integrator amplifiers convert the charge acquired by X-ray or photodiode detectors to a voltage. The channels are composed of CMOS transistors, using typical high input impedance CMOS gates. The integrators generate charge dependent voltages using a range of selectable capacitance values that accommodate a broad range of input charge values. The integrators are followed by single-ended input to differential output voltage amplifiers where offset and low frequency noise voltages are subtracted from the input voltages.

High Temperature Charge Mode Accelerometers
Charge mode output accelerometers from PCB® use piezo-ceramic sensing elements that output an electrostatic charge signal proportional to the applied acceleration. These sensors can operate at extremely high temperatures because they do not contain the built-in signal conditioning electronics that limit the temperature range of ICP® accelerometers. Charge mode sensors are used in the testing of gas and steam turbines, jet engines, high power motors, exhaust systems and automobile engines where temperatures can range from 500° F (260° C) to 1200° F (649° C).
