Semi-Rigid Test Probes Up to 6 GHz

Fairview Microwave’s semi-rigid test probe assemblies come in multiple cable diameters to help when attaching the unterminated end of the probe to a circuit board trace. There are two versions including straight-cut probe ends for those that would like to customize the dimensions of the center conductor and dielectric dimensions, as well as pre-stripped probe ends that are ready for immediate use. By soldering the outer conductor to the signal ground and the exposed center conductor to the trace carrying the signal of interest, simple sampling measurements can be made without having to create a separate subassembly circuit board or add a connector to the circuit layout which can take up valuable real estate. Fairview provides 3 diameters of semi-rigid coax and 3 different lengths from 3 inches to 12 inches to fit a variety of trace widths and applications. All test probes are 100% RF tested to ensure the cable assemblies operate to 6 GHz and also to make sure that the SMA connector interface meets the 1.35:1 VSWR specification prior to shipping. To protect the small diameter coax from damage, each part is shipped in a clear protective tube that can also be used for storing the probes for future use.

The card provides basic IO: Analog and digital interfacing, counters, PWM outputs, bidirectional I/O, Serial (UART) and I2C interfacing.

In this section, we cover the motion-based sensors in the MOTUS family.MOTUS Directional Wave Sensor is suitable for integration on different buoy types. It is intended for commercial as well as research use. The directional stand-alone Sensor processes wave data and is configurable to directly present parameters and wave spectrum. The sensor can be connected to a SmartGuard using the CANbus-based AiCaP protocol. It can also be connected to a PC or third-party systems through the RS-232 interface.MOTUS Wave Height Sensor is for wave height only. As the MOTUS Directional Sensor, it is suitable for integration on different buoy types. In the sensor, the directional wave parameters are locked. It is possible to open the wave direction parameters with a software license from Aanderaa later if the need changes. MOTUS Lite OEM Sensor is the OEM version of the MOTUS Directional Wave sensor. This means that the board includes a 1.8V-5V input range LDO and high-speed signal voltage translation on all IO pins. In addition, we've added a high output white LED that is tuned to the light temperature range of the TMD37003 IC. This makes sensing color of close-proximity objects possible, such as in robotic color sorting operations. As on many of our boards, we've included 4-40 sized mounting holes to make installation easy. The IC functions are interfaced via a 0.1" header, which includes power (Vdd and GND), I2C interface (again, fully translated) and a 3.3V input to power the proximity (IR) LED. The on-board LED is turned on with a logic 'HIGH' applied to the LED pin and is powered with Vdd.

The Model 4013 extensometer meets the requirements of ASTM D5656 for measuring the strain properties of an adhesive in shear. It uses different contact point spacing compared to the extensometer shown in D5656. This makes it much easier to mount and eliminates the slippage problems associated with the design shown in the ASTM standard. The Model 4013 is available with all of Epsilon’s temperature configurations. It has a 3.0 mm (0.12 inches) full scale measuring range. The conical point contacts included with the extensometer are made from tungsten carbide.The Model 4013 extensometers are strain gaged devices, making them compatible with any electronics designed for strain gaged transducers. Most often they are connected to a test machine controller. The signal conditioning electronics for the extensometer is typically included with the test machine controller or may often be added. In this case the extensometer is shipped with the proper connector and wiring to plug directly into the electronics. For systems lacking the required electronics, Epsilon can provide a variety of solutions, allowing the extensometer output to be connected to data acquisition boards, chart recorders or other equipment.

Analog input boards are useful for measuring variably changing conditions in the real world. When we want to measure these variably changing conditions, we need analog inputs to convert these changing real world conditions to changing electrical quantities. For example, monitoring the temperature inside a wood kiln, or the water pressure on the output of a pump, or the heart rate of a medical patient. In each of these cases, you can use one of our analog input devices to convert the electrical data from a sensor or transducer into binary data that can then be used by your computer. The device that converts this data is known as an analog to digital converter (abbreviated ADC, A/D, or A to D). An analog input is a measurable electrical signal with a defined range. The analog input changes continuously in a definable manner in relation to the measured property.
