Passive Intermodulation (PIM) is a non-linear response of two or more signals of different frequencies mixing together in a passive device, e.g., antenna, cable, con- nector or splitter. Today, PIM has become a very serious, and challenging issue for mobile operators, equipment vendors, and component manufacturers due to frequency planning in modern communication networks, the usage of high-power transmitters and the usage of more sensitive receivers in base stations. If a PIM with sufficient magnitude generated from a transmitter falls within an adjacent receiver channel, it causes serious interfe- rences to the base station receiver and will significantly degrade the network quality of service.

PD5023 is an IP67 outdoor, weather resistant, DC blocking, two way, RF broadband, 50 ohm, power divider, power combiner furnished with N type coaxial connectors. The passive Wilkinson design passes RF and the 10 MHz reference signal through both ports while blocking DC current. This configuration is typically used in combining applications to prevent passing DC to the sum and adjacent ports. Max voltage rating at the DC blocked ports is 50 VDC. All wireless band applications in the frequency range from 698 to 2700 MHz are covered with best in class RF performance. The RoHS compliant PD5023 is a bidirectional device capable of 40 W max microwave input power levels in both power splitter and combiner apps. Video Distribution Amplifiers (sometimes called a video splitter – not to be confused with a video split screen controller such as our PXD510E split screen controller) are typically used for connecting a camera or other video source to several monitors that do not have “looping” inputs. In this situation, each monitor has a permanent 75 ohm termination. With two non-looping monitors connected together, the line would be double loaded and result in a dim picture on each monitor. Using a Video Distribution Amplifier will solve this problem by driving each monitor individually at 100%.
