Any wire can be set to an open circuit, shorts can be applied across the wire pair, or to the adjacent pair. Fault connections can be made to one of four external signals via two fault buses, typically simulating connections to a supply voltage or ground.

The 40/42-860A-522-M is a PXI/PXIe dual insert/bypass switch with ST connectors and is part of Pickering's range of PXI Fiber Optic MEMS Switching modules. They are available in many high density formats with a choice of different connector styles to suit most applications: FC/APC (for optimal performance), FC/PC and SC/PC for general applications and LC and MU for high density applications. Designed for ATE switching systems, the Keysight 8762F offers the performance demanded by the cable television distribution equipment and communications equipment industries. The Keysight 8762F uses a mini 75-ohm SMB connector for the coaxial interface. The mini 75-ohm SMB connector is designed to terminate RG-179 75-ohm coaxial cable.
