Description The Advanced CAT Series Analyzers and Timers are stand-alone or PC-controlled digital instruments for circuit breaker status evaluation. Timing channels record arc closing and opening, resistance and auxiliary contacts. The main contact channels can also measure the resistance value of pre-insertion resistors (if present in the breaker). The advanced CAT series records graphs of the opening and closing coil currents and the movements of the moving parts of the high and medium voltage circuit breaker. Each of the input channels has its own A/D converter and its own programmable input amplifier. This allows the recording of signals simultaneously on all channels with 14 bit or 16 bit resolution without any phase delay between them. The card uses only one A/D converter even when running with 500 MS/s, guaranteeing best signal quality without any interleaving technology. The extremely large on-board memory allows long time recording even with the highest sampling rates.

The Quad RF Driver contains four independent RF channels, each with an RF synthesizer, variable attenuator, and 1W power amplifier. The RF signal can originate from either the internal synthesizer or an external source via SMA input. All channels have independent frequency, phase, and gain settings and can be operated in one of two modes. The “Wideband” mode operates from 35MHz to 2GHz with a 3.472KHz resolution; over this range the frequency roll-off is approximately 0.5dB/100MHz. “Int-N Phase Adjust” mode allows the user to set and maintain a fixed phase relationship between all four channels. This mode is designed to operate between 300 and 460MHz with a 2MHz resolution. Two additional inputs are provided for an external frequency reference and digital modulation.
