The CM8 module is a combination of NAI's MIL-STD-1553B module, FTB, and Enhanced Discrete I/O module, DT4. The CM8 offers twelve channels of discrete I/O and two channels of MIL-STD-1553B communications. The twelve discrete I/O channels are programmable as either input (voltage or contact sensing with programmable, on-module pull-up/pull down current sources), or output (current source, sink, or push-pull) up to 500 mA per channel from an applied, external 3-60 VCC source. The discrete I/O channels also provide additional functionality modes such as Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) output mode and Pattern Generator output mode. The two MIL-STD-1553B communications channels feature a dual, redundant, balanced-line, physical layer; a (differential) network interface; time division multiplexing; half-duplex command/response protocol; and up to 31 remote terminals (devices).

Aspirated Radiation Shield
The fan has an ingress protection (IP) rating of 55, virtually eliminating moisture and dust ingress. At full speed the power requirement is 1 W (80 mA at 12 V DC). To conserve power fan speed can be reduced, via pulse width modulation (PWM), to 0.3 W at night or when wind speed is greater than 3 m s-1 without loss of accuracy. If the fan is continuously operated at full speed lifetime is rated at 50,000 hours (5.7 years). The fan includes a tachometer, allowing RPM to be mounted to detect obstruction of the fan.

Digital I / O modules
The 34950A module has 64-bit bi-directional lines and can be configured with 8 8-bit digital I / O channels with handshaking capability. Each 8-bit channel has programmable polarity and a threshold of up to 5V. The memory can be used to generate or capture digital patterns up to 10 MHz. It provides seven configurable handshaking protocols for a wide range of applications. In addition, two counter / totalizer channels can be used to compute events, frequency, period, duty cycle, accumulation, and pulse width.

Pulse Laser

This fully integrated compact module contains a Distributed Feedback (DFB) laser and built-in optical amplifier stage, and a variable nanosecond pulse generation circuits.
