Infrared thermometers are a subset of devices known as "thermal radiation thermometers".The design essentially consists of a lens to focus the infrared thermal radiation on to a detector, which converts the radiant power to an electrical signal that can be displayed in units of temperature after being compensated for ambient temperature. This permits temperature measurement from a distance without contact with the object to be measured. A non-contact infrared thermometer is useful for measuring temperature under circumstances where thermocouples or other probe-type sensors cannot be used or do not produce accurate data for a variety of reasons.

MD-500-SE XL
The 500 series dynamometer has a larger big brother – the MD-500-SE XL! The 500-SE is an excellent 2WD performance dynamometer and the XL model expands on these traits by adding in a much wider 98-inch outer track and a HUGE mechanical flywheel to increase the mechanical inertia of the dyno to about 2,000-lbs. This additional inertia helps reduce the duty cycle burden on the eddy current PAU and even allows for pulls to be done in a pinch in inertia-only mode. The XL handles vehicles like diesels and Ford Raptors where the 500 is a bit too narrow for these types of applications. The MD-500 XL’s multiple upgrade paths allows for an AWD upgrade in the future and enables it to accept a second eddy current PAU for increased loading capability. We’ve seen this dyno handle almost 2,000-hp to the wheels on power sweeps so don’t be fooled by the 1,500-hp peak measurement specification. If your tires will hook you can measure as much power as you are laying to the rollers. The large K250 eddy current PAU has plenty of torque for testing and tuning anything from your local diesel pickup crowd and local LS guys to classic carb stuff and front wheel drive cars. The 500-XL is great product at a great price with tons of range. PIN Photodiode
PIN photodiode is a kind of photo detector, it can convert optical signals into electrical signals.This technology was invented in the latest of 1950's. There are three regions in this type of diode. There is a p-region an intrinsic region and an n-region. The p-region and n-region are comparatively heavily doped than the p-region and n-region of usual p-n diodes. The width of the intrinsic region should be larger than the space charge width of a normal p-n junction. The PIN photo diode operates with an applied reverse bias voltage and when the reverse bias is applied, the space charge region must cover the intrinsic region completely. Electron hole pairs are generated in the space charge region by photon absorption. The switching speed of frequency response of photo diode is inversely proportional to the life time. The switching speed can be enhanced by a small minority carrier lifetime. For the photo detector applications where the speed of response is important, the depletion region width should be made as large as possible for small minority carrier lifetime as a result the switch speed also increases.
