These matrices can be supplied in a variety of configurations based on Y axis sizes of 4, 8 and 16 and X axis sizes up to 32. The smaller matrix sizes in the range are factory reconfigurable up to the maximum size.

The encoder/counter module is equipped a FRAM to retain the counter value after it is powered off. FRAM is a nonvolatile memory that can hold written data even after it is powered off.
