Co-Sense for Impurities
The FDA draft guidance, "Genotoxic and Carcinogenic Impurities in Drug Substances and Products: Recommended Approaches" prescribes permitted limits for genotoxic impurities in drug substances. These impurities demand more sensitive trace-level analysis than normal impurities. Generally, mass spectrometry methods, such as GC/MS or LC/MS, are used for the high-sensitivity analysis of impurities. However, there is increasing demand for the establishment of a high-sensitivity quantitation method using an absorbance or other conventional detector that is easy to operate and can easily apply existing LC analysis conditions.

This product is a x1 lane PCIe DIO board available in four models ranging from basic DIO to advanced COS detection and Counter/Timer capabilities. The card emulates an 8255 compatible chip, providing 24 DIO lines. The DIO lines are grouped into three 8-bit ports: A, B, and C. Each 8-bit port is configured via software to function as either inputs or outputs. Port C can be further broken into two 4-bit nybbles via software and configured as either inputs or outputs.

The system utilizes the PXI Express architecture to provide a modular, flexible solution that can be customized to nearly any requirement. The main recording engine, Cobra, is a PXIe board with high speed RAM and a high performance Xilinx FPGA. This board manages the data movement to and from storage devices and also provides optical fiber channels for high speed data input or output. The Cobra board can be used alone or in concert with additional Cobra boards.
