This particular process is aimed at determining whether data in a system is protected and functions properly or not. There are different concepts of security that need to be checked under this process and these include: integrity, availability, confidentiality, non-repudiation, authentication as well as authorization. This process is comprehensive and there are a number of ways in which the process can be carried out but the important thing is to ensure that the testing process is reliable and effective.
