  • Premixed Methanol

    VICAM

Mycotoxin extraction requires precise ratios of methanol:water solution

  • Myco 5-in-1 PLUS

    VICAM

Myco 5-in-1 PLUS gives your grain or feed operation the power to detect and quantify aflatoxin, vomitoxin (DON), fumonisin, zearalenone, ochratoxin A, T2 and HT-2 using a single, solvent-free sample extraction.  Fully quantitative and fast, Myco 5-in-1 PLUS reduces solvent use completely – and reduces consumables and hands-on time by up to 77%.  A truly simple, sustainable solution for mycotoxin prevention at the grain elevator or feed manufacturing operation.

  • Deoxynivalenol Testing Solutions

    DON - VICAM

Deoxynivalenol (DON) is also known as vomitoxin because of its impact on livestock through interference with animal growth and acceptance of feed. DON has been implicated in moldy corn toxicosis of swine. DON is often present with other mycotoxins and has been isolated from grains and feeds throughout the world at levels as high as 92 ppm. Because of concerns about DON, the United States FDA has instituted advisory levels of 1 ppm for wheat products for human consumption, 5 ppm for grain products for most animal feeds and 10 ppm for grain products for cattle feed. The European Community has regulations for DON levels that range from less than 0.2 ppm in processed cereal based foods for infants and young children to less than 1.75 ppm for unprocessed wheat.

  • Multi-Analyte Testing Solutions

    VICAM

Aflatoxins, Fumonisins, Vomitoxin (DON), Ochratoxin A, Zearalenone, Nivalenol, T-2 and HT-2 are the primary targets for mycotoxin analysis for food and agricultural analytical testing laboratories. Global awareness, prevention based initiatives and strict regulatory limits require a deeper understanding of both the occurrence and contamination levels present in our raw materials, processes and finished product value streams. Simultaneous sample prep enables more efficient use of laboratory resources while reducing time to result for up to 13 mycotoxins in a single LC or LC/MS/MS analysis.

  • T-2/HT-2 Testing Solutions

    VICAM

T-2 and HT-2 mycotoxins are produced by Fusarium and other mold species that can commonly attack grains and can grow at temperatures from slightly above freezing to about 86°F (30°C). All domestic animals are susceptible to injury by dietary intake of T-2 in the range of a few ppm. In poultry, feed contaminated with 1.0 to 3.5 ppm of T- 2 has produced lesions at the edges of the beaks, abnormal feathering in chicks, a drastic and sudden drop in egg production, eggs with thin shells, reduced weight gains, and mortality.

  • Fumonisin Testing Solutions

    VICAM

Fumonisins are mycotoxins produced by the fungus Fusarium moniliforme. F. moniliforme is a frequent, almost universal, inhabitant of corn. Fumonisin B1, B2 and B3 are present in most corn samples tested, often totaling greater than 1 ppm. Fumonisin is thought to cause equine leukoencephalomalacia in horses, swine pulmonary edema, and human esophageal cancer. The FDA/USDA Working Group on Fumonisin advises less than 4 ppm for products for human consumption, less than 5 mg/kg in horse feed, less than 10 mg/kg for swine feed, and less than 50 mg/kg for cattle feed.

  • Glyphosate Testing Solutions

    VICAM

Glyphosate is a chemical herbicide used during cultivation of cereal grains, pulses, oilseeds, sugar beets and more. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified glyphosate as a Group 2B probable carcinogen in 2016. Since that time, at least 35 countries, regions and municipalities have moved to restrict or ban the use of glyphosate for commercial and noncommercial use.

  • Solvent Free Testing Solutions

    VICAM

VICAM's solvent free strip tests, which include the AQUA product line, use a water-based extraction procedure. Solvent free testing solutions allow organizations to improve efficiency while eliminating the risks and costs associated with acquiring, utilizing and disposing of hazardous chemicals. The tests are easily performed on-site or in the lab and require no special training.

  • Zearalenone Testing Solutions

    VICAM

Zearalenone is an estrogenic mycotoxin produced by the fungus Fusarium graminearum. Zearalenone induces feminization in animals at concentrations in feed of about 1 ppm. Higher concentrations (50-100 ppm) can interfere with conception, ovulation, implantation, fetal development, and the viability of newborn animals.

  • Ochratoxin Testing Solutions

    VICAM

Ochratoxin is a mycotoxin produced by the fungus Aspergillus ochraceous and also by several species of Penicillium fungi. Ochratoxin has been known to cause kidney damage and decreased egg production in chickens. It is an immunosuppressant and is considered a potential carcinogen.

  • Aflatoxin Testing Solutions

    VICAM

Aflatoxin, a toxin from a naturally occurring mold, is a Group 1 carcinogen proven to cause cancer in humans. The United States federal government action level for aflatoxin in food for human consumption or in dairy cowfeed is 20 ppb. For milk for human consumption the level is 0.5 ppb. Levels up to 300 ppb are allowed in certain circumstances for nondairy animal feed. The European Union’s aflatoxin regulations for groundnuts, tree nuts, dried fruit, spices, and cereals include limits as low as 4 ppb total aflatoxins and 2 ppb for aflatoxin B1. Some EU member states have also separately established their own maximum limits on aflatoxins.

  • Citrinin Testing Solutions

    VICAM

Citrinin is a naturally occurring fungal metabolite produced by several species of the genera Penicillium and Penicillium which causes kidney and liver damage. Citrinin has been found to be mutagenic in hepatocytes and has been implicated as a potential cause of human Endemic Balkan Nephropathy as well as porcine nephropathy. Because of concerns over citrinin contamination, Japan has issued an advisory limit of 200 ppb and the European Union has a recommended limit of 100 ppb.

  • Bisphenol A Testing Solutions

    BPA - VICAM

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical of concern found in polycarbonate consumer products such as plastic food and beverage containers, as well as in a wide variety of epoxy resin applications, including the inner coatings of cans, jar caps, and water pipes; dental materials; and thermal paper. BPA safety studies have linked this known endocrine disruptor to numerous adverse health effects, ranging from diabetes, heart disease, and reproductive and developmental problems to breast and prostate cancers. Regulations continue to evolve in response to mounting scientific and consumer concern about the potential impact of BPA on public health and the environment.
