  • Camera Cores

    Exosens Group

Photonis camera cores provide day-through-night imaging to detect and capture images in any lighting conditions, from daylight through quarter-moon darkness. Our camera core portfolio covers a broad range of detection from visible, near infrared (NIR), short-wavelength infrared (SWIR) to long-wavelength infrared (LWIR) spectrum.

  • Neutronic Detection

    Exosens Group

Neutron imaging is a non-destructive method used to see inside objects that may be inpenetrable by X-ray or other techniques.Neutrons offer the benefit of being able to see through heavy metals such as lead but can also be used to examine delicate processes.Photonis Neutron detector is designed to provide either still images or video using both cold and thermal neutron imaging techniquesfor non-destructive testing and neutron tomography.

  • Ion & Electron Detection

    Exosens Group

Photonis is the global leader in the development and manufacturing of detectors and optical components to detect ions and electrons. These detectors and components have been designed for a wide range of scientific instruments used in space and research projects but also in cells and material analysis in lifescience or non destructive testing.

  • Microwave Devices

    Exosens Group

Photonis Defense and its predecessors have been designing and manufacturing Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs) since their invention in the early 1940’s. Photonis manufactures helix-type tubes that are constructed using the industry standard metal-ceramic construction. Our tubes are conduction cooled and feature rare earth periodic permanent magnets for power-free focusing.

  • Single Photon Detection & Imaging

    Exosens Group

To detect single photons or to image low light levels, Photonis proposes different types of image intensifiers and photon multipliers tubes.Image intensifiers tubes are used to count and position photons across a wide range of wavelengths, making them visible for researchers to observe behavior and phenomena. Photonis offers the largest selection of both standard and custom detectors in the market, with unmatched gating and photocathode options, including the highest quantum efficiency available.

  • Power Tubes

    Exosens Group

The Photonis Defense Power Tube product line encompasses a wide variety of tubes and their associated circuitry components designed for specialty use. Photonis Defense manufactures gridded power tubes (tetrodes and triodes) for use in defense, communications, broadcast, research and other applications. Output capabilities range from a few watts to megawatts, and frequency coverage extends from DC to over 1400 MHz.

  • Gamma Detectors

    Exosens Group

In Gamma detectors, the gamma radiations produce electrons by interacting with the cathode material and the filling gas. These electrons ionize the gas and the charge carriers are collected by the electrodes. The resulting anode pulse is detected by a load circuit. The primary electrons are created by several interaction mechanisms:- Photoelectric effect- Compton scattering- Pair production

  • Equipment & Vision Systems for Surveillance & Defense Applications

    Exosens Group

Photonis equipment systems are designed with Photonis sensors and cameras, while providing ease-of-use for in-depth image capture and analysis. These low light imaging systems are specifically developed with Night Vision, Observation & surveillance, Situation Awareness in mind. Two main equipments are proposed: the TacFusion is a handheld binocular combining low light camera core and thermal imaging sensor and the SR750 is a long range surveillance camera with powerful zoom and adapted ergonomics for rapid deployment. Both devices can be used for surveillance applications (police law-enforcement, borders and infrastructure surveillance) as well as SAR operations.

  • Neutron Detectors

    Exosens Group

As a neutron has no charge, a neutron detector incorporates a neutron-to-ionisation particle converter. The incident neutrons are captured by the converter material which then produces (detectable) ionising particles by means of a nuclear reaction.Photonis gas-filled detectors are designed to detect thermal neutrons (En < 0.025 eV), so the capture cross-section of the detecting material must be as large as possible for this low energy. We therefore use 235U (580 barn at 20 °C) for our fission chambers, and 10B (3840 barn at 20 °C) for our boron-lined proportional counters.

  • Commercial Grade Image Intensifier Tubes

    ECHO Series - Exosens Group

The commercial grade image intensifier tubes are used to amplify low light level images in a wide light spectrum for civil applications.Discover ECHO the high performance commercial image intensifier by Photonis. The ECHO technology is the commercial grade image intensififier tube by Photonis, offering two high performance grades to the commercial market for civilian users.ECHO image intensifier tubes serve many night vision applications for users that require good range and details at night andmaking them perfect for sport shooters, hunters, airsoft practioners and night vision enthusiasts.

  • Intensified Cameras - Ultra-Sensitive CMOS Cameras from Deep UV to NIR Spectrum

    iCameras - Exosens Group

The cameras are equipped with a high-resolution sensor with high frame rate for excellent quality of image production, which is well‐suited to detect high speed moving objects or ultra-fast phenomenon. The mechanical architecture of the iCamera is small, compact and light-weight, especially designed for easy integration into any system. The iCamera features an exceptional sensitivity based on high QE image intensifier - ultra-fast gating technology down to a few nanoseconds, which allows it to be coupled with a laser source to perform high fidelity active imaging.

  • Mineral Insulated Connectors for Neutron & Gamma Detectors

    Exosens Group

The extreme operating conditions in which Photonis neutron and gamma detectors are operating can lead organic insulated cables to deteriorate, requiring repair. In order to have long lasting and reliable signal transmission Photonis offers high-immunity, mineral-insulated (MI) cable extensions and connectors. Our MI cable extensions allow transmission of low level impulse signals under harsh radiation and environmental conditions.Depending on the connector which is supplied with the detector, Photonis can provide either BNC, BNCHN or HN connectors. Photonis specific reinforced HN connectors can support up to 20 bar external pressure and remain tight at high temperature. Our cable extensions also provide efficient shielding to radiation and electromagnetic parasitic signals.

  • X-Ray Components

    Exosens Group

Photonis designed the Micro Pore Optics detector to be used in X-Ray imaging applications. Its perfectly square, flat channels are optimized to allow X-Ray and UV photons to be focused or collimated due to the total external reflection at a grazing angle (<2°). Micro Pore Optics are installed on a number of international space missions.
