SQUID Amplifier
The HYPRES integrated SQUID array amplifier system offers ease of readout and low noise characteristics for measuring currents in low or zero (superconducting) impedance loads. The DC SQUID array amplifier system is a product that resulted from a technology transfer to HYPRES from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) under a SBIR program sponsored by NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. This program has succeeded to merge NIST's SQUID technology with the HYPRES fabrication and packaging technologies to produce a SQUID-based amplifier system suitable for x-ray and cryogenic detector arrays. Such amplifier chips have been delivered to NASA, Stanford University, Harvard University, SQM technology, TERATEC Corporation, University of Colorado, and LETI in France.
