Codenomicon SNMP Test Tools help proactively eliminate security flaws in Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) implementations. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a protocol for observing, controlling and managing remote networked devices over the Internet. Although the most current version is SNMPv3, SNMPv2c/m and SNMPv1 are still used widely. Codenomicon SNMP Test Tools consist of two separate tools, one for testing SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c implementations, and another for testing SNMPv3. All SNMP implementations can be vulnerable to exploitation through externally-supplied malformed SNMP protocol data. Effects of malicious data range from transient errors to complete system crashes and compromises.
