The DVD Specifications for Read-Only Discs Ver. 1.0, Aug. 1996 (hereafter referred to as the DVD Book) specify the jitter measurement method as follows: Time differences between all edges of an RF signal and a clock signal generated from the RF signal are measured to obtain their variation (a value) as jitter.
