IT-084 - TDR Cable Reflectometer
IT-084 ensures characterization and precision location of faults in cables utilized in CATV and telecom networks. Moreover, IT-084 offers a mode for easy measurement of cable segment length. IT-084 employs TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) technology based on electric pulse injection along the cable and detection of the reverse reflected signal (reflections from any heterogeneities such as terminations, cable breaks, shield faults, which may affect the wave impedance of the cable under test). The shape analysis and accurate time measurement from the original pulse to reflected pulses allows for the identification of fault type as well as fault location (along the cable).
