Geosynchronous Imaging Fourier Transform Spectrometer (GIFTS)

BAE Systems developed state-of-the-art HgCdTe mid-wave and long-wave infrared focal-plane arrays for the GIFTS Earth Observing-3 mission. The objective of the EO-3 mission was to improve future weather forecasting through testing new remote sensing technology designed to measure temperature, moisture and wind velocity.
