We developed the EL system specifically for evaluating PCB thermal management and analyzing component thermal behavior. At the heart of EL is the OptoTherm InfraSight thermal imaging camera that captures thermal images at 30 frames per second, obtains the temperature at 19,200 individual points on each image, and can detect temperature changes as small as 0.1°C. With its level of spatial and temperature resolution, EL is capable of identifying small but significant temperature variations of individual components, legs, and even traces.
